Notes for Use

Select "Nominal" to view the data in current dollars (e.g., not adjusted for inflation). Select "Real (2021 dollars)" to view data in constant 2021 dollars (i.e., adjusted for inflation).

Data Availability

Data are available for 1977-2021.

You may also download an Excel spreadsheet containing the CPI, Population and Personal Income numbers used in these calculations.

Technical Notes

Finance data are adjusted to 2021 dollars using the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The parameters for the CPI used are Not Seasonally Adjusted, All-Urban Consumers, All Cities Average, and All Items. Data are for the calendar year of the finance data.
